The Official Visit of the South African Foreign Minister
The South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Nkoana-Mashabane, paid two courtesy visits to the President Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and her counterpart, Mr Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran on June 25, 2014.
The meeting between the two Ministers was concluded by a brief press conference attended by the Iranian and South African journalists.
One of the highlights of Minister Mashabane’s visit was the Political Seminar to Celebrate Twenty Years of South African Freedom and Democracy organized by the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Tehran.
The political seminar featured four prominent speakers including the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms. Nkoana-Mashabane, the Deputy President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Women and Family Affairs, Ms. Molaverdi, the Spokesman to the South African President, Mr. Mac Maharaj, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Arab and African Countries, Mr. Amir Abdollahian.
The Deputy Minister International Relations and Cooperation, Nomaindia Mfeketo, attended the NAM Palestine Committee meeting on August 04, 2014 in Tehran. In the sidelines of the meeting, the South Africa Deputy Foreign Minister met with her counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
The Deputy Minister also had a meeting with the Vice-president in Women and Family Affairs, Shahindokht Mollaverdi.
